Human Rights Watch, an international non-governmental organisation, is involved in
research and advocacy on human rights.
Its main contribution to the field of human rights:
a. It attracts global media attention to human rights abuses.
b. Every year, it publishes more than 100 reports and briefings on human rights
conditions in some 90 countries, generating extensive coverage in local and
international media.
c. It assists in forming international coalitions like campaigns to ban landmines,
to stop the use of child soldiers and to establish the international criminal
court.
