To ask the user for a specific piece of information within a form, use the

<input /> tag. This tag must fall between the <form> and </form> tags, but it
can be anywhere on the page in relation to text, images, and other HTML
tags. For example, to ask for someone’s name, you could type the following:

The Input types are as follows

Input Type: text

<input type="text"> defines a one-line input field for text input:


First name:<br>
<input type="text" name="firstname">
Last name:<br>
<input type="text" name="lastname">

Input Type: password

<input type="password"> defines a password field:


User name:<br>
<input type="text" name="username">
User password:<br>
<input type="password" name="psw">

Input Type: submit

<input type="submit"> defines a button for submitting form input to a form-handler.

The form-handler is typically a server page with a script for processing input data.

The form-handler is is specified in the form's action attribute:

<input type="radio"> defines a radio button.

Radio buttons let a user select ONLY ONE of a limited number of choices:
