Madras and Bombay
The Ryotwari system of land revenue was introduced in the Madras Presidency by Governor Sir Thomas Munro during 1820- 1827. After that, it was adopted in Bombay and Assam. The excerpts of the Ryotwari system are-

1) If farmers did not pay taxes, they were evicted.
2) taxes were only fixed in a temporary settlement for a period of thirty years and then revised.
3) government had retained the right to enhance land revenue whenever it wanted
