In order to convert a galvanometer to a voltmeter, a high resistance is connected to it in series. Since voltmeter can measure the potential voltage more accurately only with the help of high resistance. So, the correct option is A, high resistance in series.

Answer : (A)  high resistance in series
Explanation :
Galvanometer is a very sensitive instrument.
Voltmeter is always connected in parallel to a circuit.
Galvanometer directly cannot be used for measuring potentials
In order to convert a Galvanometer into voltmeter, a very high resistance known as "series resistance" is connected in series with the galvanometer
