Roof area of building = 100 sqm

Rain fall = 60 mm per hour  = .06 m per hour (60mm/1000 )

Thus, water collection on the roof top per hour  = 100 sqm x .06 m per hour

= 6 cubic meter per hour

Loss during water storage = 20% = (20/100) x 6 = 1.2 cubic meter per hour

Thus water getting stored per hour = (6 -1.2) cubic meter per hour

=4.8 cubic meter per hour

Time taken to fill the tank (72 cum capacity) completely = 72 cum /(4.8 cum/ hr.)

=15 Hours
