Color vision is the ability of an organism or machine to distinguish objects based on the wavelengths (or frequencies) of the light they reflect, emit, or transmit.
The dimensions of color are:

  • Hue Dimension of Color Space. Hue represents the color itself—red, yellow, blue, etc.
  • Value Dimension of Color Space. Value is the one dimension of color space that can stand alone.
  • Chroma Dimension of Color Space. Chroma is often described as the brightness or saturation of color.
